Much of the film is absurdist nonsense, and its symbolism is of the plank-to-the-head variety.. The movie officially becomes the one thing Arbus's photography refused to be: normal.. Reeves had an easy but peppy presence that was very likable, and Affleck's moroseness doesn't do him justice.. . There's a fine line to walk when making a film about outlaws: A few wrong moves and, presto, glamorization occurs. To its credit, The Baader Meinhof Complex almost entirely avoids this pitfall.. Very good...
